Manager of Operations – Green’s Farms Church (Part-time)

Green’s Farms Church (GFC), located in the vibrant coastal town of Westport, CT, was founded in 1711 and is today a thriving, intergenerational church community.

Position Overview

We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated part-time Operations Manager with strong project management, organizational and interpersonal communications skills. The ideal candidate must have a keen eye for detail, ability to manage multiple projects at a time, demonstrate initiative, and be a team player.  Experience with Planning Center software or a similar church management system is a plus.

Reports to: Director of Operations

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Construct and publish weekly church bulletin

  • Assist in managing organization and registration for church events, including baptisms, funerals, weddings, youth activities, the annual women’s retreat, and the annual Youth Mission Trip utilizing Planning Center where appropriate

  • Assist senior staff members with the creation of documents, templates and reports, and manage document archives

  • Provide administrative support to the Senior Minister and Director of Operations and take initiative to support the leadership team, as needed

  • General office administration 

  • Planning Center software administrator

    • Maintain Planning Center database to minimize data errors and duplications

    • Manage member directory starting in late 2024 or early 2025

  • Develop standard operating procedures and policies and facilitate Planning Center training sessions for ministry leaders, staff and volunteers

  • Participate in Planning Center trainings to stay current with software updates

Hours and Compensation:

This is a part-time, 12 hours per week hybrid position.  The Operations Manager will work in-person in the church office every Tuesday from 10 am until 2 pm, including in-person participation in the 10 am weekly staff meeting, and on Thursday and Friday from 11 am to 3 pm.  

In-person support will be required for Special events such as weddings, funerals and infant baptisms, as well as all key Sunday services/events throughout the year. Occasional Sunday morning coverage will be necessary.

Compensation is a $35/hour wage, without paid benefits or holidays.
