Manager of Operations – Green’s Farms Church (Part-time)
Green’s Farms Church (GFC), located in the vibrant coastal town of Westport, CT, was founded in 1711 and is today a thriving, intergenerational church community.
Position Overview
We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated part-time Operations Manager with strong project management, organizational and interpersonal communications skills. The ideal candidate must have a keen eye for detail, ability to manage multiple projects at a time, demonstrate initiative, and be a team player. Experience with Planning Center software or a similar church management system is a plus.
Reports to: Director of Operations
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Construct and publish weekly church bulletin
Assist in managing organization and registration for church events, including baptisms, funerals, weddings, youth activities, the annual women’s retreat, and the annual Youth Mission Trip utilizing Planning Center where appropriate
Assist senior staff members with the creation of documents, templates and reports, and manage document archives
Provide administrative support to the Senior Minister and Director of Operations and take initiative to support the leadership team, as needed
General office administration
Planning Center software administrator
Maintain Planning Center database to minimize data errors and duplications
Manage member directory starting in late 2024 or early 2025
Develop standard operating procedures and policies and facilitate Planning Center training sessions for ministry leaders, staff and volunteers
Participate in Planning Center trainings to stay current with software updates
Hours and Compensation:
This is a part-time, 12 hours per week hybrid position. The Operations Manager will work in-person in the church office every Tuesday from 10 am until 2 pm, including in-person participation in the 10 am weekly staff meeting, and on Thursday and Friday from 11 am to 3 pm.
In-person support will be required for Special events such as weddings, funerals and infant baptisms, as well as all key Sunday services/events throughout the year. Occasional Sunday morning coverage will be necessary.
Compensation is a $35/hour wage, without paid benefits or holidays.
